My art is tactile and deeply referential; using architectural elements and materials that are tempered and changed, materials of the earth, structures we create and discard, reclaimed and existing outside a fixed moment. A tension and balance between security and impermanence echo, offering hidden narratives. Emphasizing the cycle of construction and destruction, cohesion and disintegration has defined much of my sculpture and installation art.

I am evolving through a variety of new mediums on a smaller and more intimate scale as my physical limitations from an accident 5 years ago changed my ability to deal with weight and scale; yet I continue to develop concepts and small scale sculptures as well as photography and designs for larger sculptures and wall works.

I’ve focused on works on paper, wood, walls; drawings, collage, photography, and photo collages. The imagery captures and illuminates my ongoing conceptual process; through architecture, structure, environment, human interaction, materials, and time.

The archetypal images and forms of my work, the place or site, function as a repository of individual and collective moments and history, forming a visceral bridge to experience a blending of time-frames, real and imagined. The architecture and structure of the forms integrate with the color and visuals of the landscape to create a new visual form, language, and narrative.
